Weekend Rundown

Hello everyone! First off, my best friend had her first child this past Friday and it set the tone for the whole weekend- such joy!! When I first received the news Friday morning with a few picture messages of her and her son, I literally burst out in tears. While driving to work. It was dangerous. I can’t wait to see this kid grow up over the years.  Saturday morning started with a trip to the Farmer’s Market. There are only a few weeks left to take advantage of this before the cold is upon us! We picked up some fresh flowers for the house, fresh veggies and some apples to make some homemade applesauce. (Recipe to come!)  Sunday was busy, busy, busy getting ready for the week but we managed to get a few moments to enjoy the beautiful weather. We had an early lunch at a restaurant called […]

Looking back on our Engagement Shoot

The crisp air in the morning and chatter of pumpkin flavored everything always gets me giddy for the holidays to come. It also makes me reminiscent on the first few months after my husband and I got engaged. We were both on cloud nine with fuzzy feelings of love and excitement for the coming year.  Our amazing Photographers, Photos By Kintz, are a husband and wife team that we had so much fun working with that day! My husband and I love camping. I grew up camping every year in New Hampshire and his friends and family have always done the same. We knew this had to be part of our engagement shoot. Much to our surprise..when we showed up they told us nobody was allowed to camp that night because the previous night was the last night for camping. Oops! Our plan was foiled and we’d have to make do without the cozy campfire shoot we […]

How to Plan a Cross Country Trip

The All-American Cross Country Road Trip is something that has enticed me since I can remember. Equal parts history and adventure- it’s been on my bucket list since I even heard the concept of a bucket list. The vision of cruising from state to state with the windows down, music up and nothing to worry about aside from what the next restaurant stop will be excites me like no other. I can’t think of a better way to experience the landscapes of America than to travel coast to coast with the ability to stop, get out of the car and explore at any given moment.  Let’s rewind to this past January when I got bit by the travel bug again. This happens fairly frequently and usually I have the urge to plan things and make them happen in the very near future..In this case, I wanted to make the trip two months from the  initial consideration of the trip. Roasted Fig & Burrata Crostini with Balsamic Glaze

The search is over. The winner for best cheese to enter your life is….burrata. A semi-soft Italian cheese very similar to mozzarella but with an added filling of cream. Add this to some roasted figs with balsamic and you’re golden.  It was a weeknight and I was flying solo for dinner so I decided to do something with the burrata I had in the fridge. I love small plate restaurants or getting a bunch of appetizers to share for the table for dinner. So when the opportunity arises for me to make myself a bunch of appetizers for dinner, I jump on it. Now I wish I could say I always have fresh figs on hand but truth be told, I’m not that fancy. I also believe my mind is always subliminally looking for a valid reason to go to Trader Joe’s. Before I knew it was enjoying these tasty treats with a glass […]

DIY Natural Essential Oil Soft Scrub

Emphatically dubbed “miracle scrub” by my husband, this gentle yet effective cleaner has become a staple in our apartment. This Homemade DIY Soft Scrub opened my eyes to the power of natural cleaning. It has some major grime fighting ingredients and to top it off, I add lemon and orange essential oils for added cleaning power and a fresh scent.  Through research and endless google searches, I became all too aware of the unholy amount of harmful chemicals in everyday cleaning products. I won’t name any names but after doing a check on the supplies we use nearly everyday, I  decided to see how a natural cleaner would compare to the chemical filled mainstream products. My mind was blown at the results from this all natural cleaner. It tears through dirt and stops mildew in its tracks. The combination of these simple ingredients will take care of all your kitchen, bathroom and tile cleaning needs- naturally! […]
